Attended the Shortis and Simpson dinner show. Service was awesome especially considering how tight the space was. A few less tables would have been better. Food ranged from ok to quite good. Would eat at the restaurant again, however would be less likely to take the dinner and show option again. Parking was easy, close and free and exiting was no problem after the event.
A historic hotel in excellent condition, this is a good value stay. The staff are relaxed and friendly; the rooms impeccably clean and furnished. Beautiful gardens surround the rooms. Restaurants and shopping are available onsite or within a short walk. The rooms have a microwave, fridge, and cutlery.
Generous heritage rooms, high ceilings with real wood finish. Comfortable bed. Great ambience. Friendly reception. Would have scored 5 stars apart from being woken at 2am by electronic buzz in the roof (smoke detector?), intermittent noisy fridge and no chairs or tables in private courtyard (next door had ample): avoid Room 18.
Rooms are clean and spacious. Grounds are well kept. Reception friendly, helpful and efficient. Thoroughly recommend.
The Faulty Towers dinner and show was delightful. I had a great time as the show was entertaining and funny. Didn't stop laughing the whole time. The staff were very attentive and helpful. The crowd and atmosphere was great. The food was nice, the first 2 courses were good but unfortunately the dessert let the meal down. The reason for just 4 stars. Saying that I would definitely go again. Maybe next time a simple dessert such as lemon meringue, apple pie or pudding would go down better?
